JAVASCRIPT, STYLESHEETS, AND COOKIESThis Help screen will show you how to make sure that your Netscape Browser is properly set up to allow the use of JavaScript, Stylesheets, and Cookies.
The image above shows the top left corner of a typical Netscape 4 Browser, with the pull-down menu for EDIT selected, and the choice PREFERENCES highlighted. This is what your screen will look like as you click PREFERENCES so that you can make the necessary changes to Netscape's Browser so that you can use FACT's online CBT Viewer. The next image shows the typical Netscape 4 PREFERENCES Screen. All versions are NOT the same. You may have to hunt a little to find exactly what you are looking for. Notice that the left portion of this image contains an image showing Categories (and SubCategories). When you first see this screen, none of the SubCategories will probably be visible. In the case of this version, all that would initially be visible there would be APPEARANCE, NAVIGATOR, MAIL AND NEWSGROUPS, ROAMING ACCESS, COMPOSER, OFFLINE and ADVANCE. Notice also that some of the Categories have a small plus sign (+) beside them (e.g. on the left side of COMPOSER) and others have a minus sign (-) beside them (e.g. ADVANCED).
In order to make SubCategories visible, you click on one of the Plus signs. If SubCategories are visible and you want them to disappear, click on a Minus sign. The only Category that is important to us (right now) is the ADVANCED Category. Click it. Assuming you are using a browser that is set up exactly like this one (which is probably unlikely), everything that is important to you is displayed on the screen. If you do not see all of the things that are displayed in this image, you may have to check a little further. Notice that in this image, the following items are 'ticked off'.
